The ACUSD/ACOE Community Newsletter is a weekly communication from the Amador County Unified School District and Amador County Office of Education. The purpose of this newsletter is to keep our families, staff, and community members informed about our district!

22nd Annual Broadway Burger Bash

Amador High and Argonaut High’s 22nd annual Broadway Burger Bash is set for Saturday, September 26, 5 p.m. at the Main Street Theatre Works’ Amphitheater, 1127 North Main/Jackson Gate Road.

The picnic celebration features burgers from Argonaut High Culinary and cookies from Amador High Culinary. Once dinner is served, the theatre students will perform Broadway numbers, including selections from this December’s musical, Hadestown.

News From the Community

Helmet on. Every Ride. 🚲🛴

Bikes, scooters, and skateboards are a fun way for students to get to and from school. Let’s make every ride a safe one by making sure a helmet is worn every time!

California Law requires anyone under 18 to wear a properly fitted and fastened helmet when riding a bicycle, a nonmotorized scooter, or skateboard, or wearing in-line or roller skates on a street, bikeway, or public bicycle path or trail.

West Nile Virus Detected in Amador County - ACPH

Amador County Public Health has confirmed the first equine case of West Nile virus (WNV) reported in Amador County in 2026. Outbreaks of WNV occur each summer in the United States and are most commonly transmitted to humans and animals through a mosquito bite from a mosquito harboring the virus. Public Health officials remind the community to take preventative measures to avoid mosquito-borne disease.

School Board Updates

The next School Board meeting will take place on October 7, 2026, at the Amador County Administration Center located at 810 Court St. Jackson, CA 95642.

ACOE Open Session will begin at 5:30 pm.

ACUSD Open Session will begin at 7:00 pm.

Amador High School Remembers 9/11

Last Friday, students, staff, and community members planted flags at Amador High School for the 25th anniversary of 9/11.

Sutter Creek Elementary Student Elections

Last Friday was Election Day at Sutter Creek Elementary!

Our future leaders are stepping up to run for Public Relations, Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-President, and President

It takes a ton of guts, creativity, and big vision to put yourself out there like this, and these kids have blown us away with their awesome ideas and campaign energy. Win or lose, every single candidate has made us ridiculously proud!

Farms of Amador Tour 🌱

On Sunday, the ACUSD School Farm was included in the annual Farms of Amador Tour for the first time! FFA Students gave attendees a tour of the farm, explaining the planting and harvesting processes. They also had a farm stand set up to sell some of the farm's produce.

They recently harvested a 5-pound beet, which sold at the auction for $500!
